I was traveling thru N.

C. in my 2024 Honda Pilot when my AppleCarPlay wouldn't connect. A little problem I know but when you're 500 miles from home the inconvenience was almost a necessity. I stopped at the nearest Honda dealership (Apple Tree) for help. Jason Roeser immediately analyzed the problem and got me back on the road. I just wanted to thank Jason for the professional, courteous service.

My wife’s nine consecutive brand new Honda model

experience was shattered in less than two minutes. She does not need to be told twice to make future purchases from another manufacturer.

0/10 customer service, doesn't call or text back, when

they do call you back it's because you had to call them numerous times, doesn't listen when you tell them a price point, can't make any deals. Just avoid at all cost! Went to another deal got the price I wanted/needed for my budget.

I was an out of state buyer and recently purchased a used

car from this dealership. When the vehicle arrived it was inoperable and other equipment did not work (A/C, Radio, and Transmission). Contacted the dealership to ask why did not disclose any of these issues as being problems prior to my delivery and they stated it’s an As Is purchase. But you advertise the vehicle with this equipment, no mention it is inoperable. (They were marketing to sell this vehicle for $19,000 over and above what they purchased the car for 8 month ago). Then the GSM hung up the phone on me. Stay away from this company and buy your car elsewhere.

If I could give 0 stars to this service I would.

On 8/16, I arrived for my 9:20 appointment at 9:18. As I was waiting to get checked in, I overheard one technician say to another, "I told her (walk in) that we could get her done by 11:30." I then got checked in and began my wait. At 10:50, I texted to find out what was taking so long. I received a text that said "we are backed up" At 11am, the girl with the walk in appointment checked out and left. I then sent a message indicating that I had an another appointment that I needed to get to. I received a response stating that someone could drop me off at said appointment if it was close. I replied that my appointment was in Morganton. I then received a message "we will put a rush on it". At 11:28; after waiting 2 hours for a simple oil change, I sent a message stating that I had to leave in 5 minutes or that I would be late for my next appointment. I was finally able to check out at 11:33. I asked about my breaks, the technician said they were fine. However, when I looked at my paperwork it is indicated that my breaks are in the yellow zone, follow up is needed and that I declined services.. I was only given a simple apology for the delay. The services that I received should have at least been discounted, if not free. I am highly disappointed in your service department.

My deal was great and the car cosmetically was

immaculate. However, when I test drove the car the brake rotors were terrible. This was fixed but I took it home and had it looked at Discount tire and learned that the rear brake rotors were completely gone. The tires show uneven wear which Create excessive road noise The Lugnuts were of the wrong size and did not tightly hold the rim to the axle. The dealerships seemed like very nice people and I expected that they would prep the car properly. It is clear that no maintenance was done on this vehicle for brakes and tires. I don’t get taken very often I was very disappointed with this dealerships lack of mechanical preparation of this vehicle. It will cost me at least $1500 to bring this vehicle up to par.

I have taken my Fit and CRV to be serviced since

purchasing them. For many of these appointments I worked with Brenda, a service center associate. She has always provided excellent service, clearly stating what needs to be repaired or replaced, and quoting the cost of each. She has also been extremely personable, obviously caring about her customers. I trust her to walk me through the process of keeping my vehicles in excellent shape. In my view she deserves any extra incentives you can provide!

This review is my opinion of our purchase of a 2023 Honda

Accord Hybrid Sport L from Apple Tree Honda on 5/25/2023. It has been a truly horrible experience that just keeps on giving! Yesterday, I found damage to the car’s interior that was clearly known and hidden. Under the spotless, new floor mats installed by Apple Tree Honda, especially the passenger side mats, you could clearly see the carpet under the mats were intentionally damaged from the heel(s) of a work boot being dug into the carpet. You can actually see the ridges left from the heel of the boots intentionally being forcefully scraped forward and back multiple times to ruin the carpet pile. How I know it was a work boot that did the damage was the fact that the new floor mats were not present in the car when the damage was made. You could clearly see the full pattern of the dirty sole of the boot in the passenger floorboard. Additionally, you could actually see the impressions of that passengers knuckles in the drop down handle above the passenger door. There are 4 permanent knuckle impressions in the headliner we did not see when we looked at the car. Now on to the tires. There are zero of the small rubber hair spikes on the edge of the tires that are present on all new tires. They are called 'vent spews', a weird name for something extremely common. Other names include sprue nubs, tyre nibs, gate marks or nippers. The hairs actually play a vital role in the tyre manufacturing process. The “new car” had 137 miles on it from “the Manager Driving It” and I believe the car was taken out on several hard drives that would scrub off the vent spews referenced above and force the passenger on those drives to grab the drop down handle on the passenger side and hang on for the ride! The floorboards, the tires and the knuckle impressions in the headliner all support this account of how this car was used just before we bought it. Again, who thinks to check under the brand new floor mats for damage to a “Brand New” car. The floor mats themselves were brand new with not a mark, dirt or any lint on them. The only floorboard not damaged, dirt or used was the driver’s rear seating area. The tires though are what lead me to put 2 and 2 together to find out how this car was driven By The Manager for 137 miles. It has been a terrible experience dealing with Apple Tree Honda before, during and after our purchase of what they can legally call a new car. I personally caught the Salesman, the Sales Manager and the General Sales Manager in lies misrepresenting the car, it’s condition, the price agreed to and that we could call the salesman if my wife didn’t like the car and they would get her something else.

Again to get the legal out of the way.

..The following is simply our opinion of buying a car from Apple Tree Honda on 5/25/2023. I sent this to NCDOJ. As you have probably seen, Matt Sewitski did finally contact us by email on June 8th trying to deflect from my honest reporting and review of the bait-and-switch deal Apple Tree Honda got us for. As Matt Sewitski knows, you know and I know, Apple Tree Honda paid an invoice price to Honda Motors probably less than $30,000. Everything else he says is but an attempt to mask their true business model which is to now to cover for the dealership, the salesman and not even mention the out the door, all in $35,000 deal that Tony Atkins and we agreed to. We never would have shown up otherwise. I never said the $1999 Honda Protection Plan was illegal. I said the fact they said it couldn't be removed was a lie and illegal to say it cannot be removed. They could in fact remove it and honor the verbal agreement Tony Atkins and we agreed to. Tony Atkins was acting as an agent of Apple Tree Honda with actual authority when he agreed to the $35,000 all in out the door deal and wanted us to come in. That is but one misrepresentation of the $35,000 all in out the door deal agreed to by us and Tony Atkins. This further discredits any attempt by Matt Sewitski to change the facts of this deal, the texts, what Tony told us and the deal he agreed to. I understand Matt Sewitski has to try everything he can at this point. Remember, I tried 8 times to contact him...3 at the dealership, one being by open email to their website "General Admin" email, and then 5 cellphone voicemails after a receptionist at Apple Tree connected me to his cell phone. I called him every morning the following week after dropping my wife off at work. He returned not one call, message or email. I was also able to send the owner Jason Locke an email describing our experience ( [email protected] ). It took a bit of time to track that email down! We have yet to hear back from the owner Jason Locke. The most important example of Matt Sewitski and Tony Atkins misrepresenting what was said and agreed to is Matt Sewitski's attempt to change the meaning of the text messages that were exchanged, and what we said to Tony Atkins on the phone on 5/26/2023 at 7:55 am...I said we did not want the car, we need to return it. It is too distracting for us...Joy. See if you can find what I originally called about. An Accord Ex with heated seats and remote start. That's all the car we really need. We will need some money back though.. I did not ever ask Tony Atkins or Matt Sewitski to ever swap the car or to break the law? What is he talking about? The car already had over 137 miles when we started home that night. I know they get some leeway on that I guess? Again, it was Tony Atkin's text message that said, "Spoke with my manager and he can't unwind the deal .. to trade for the EX would be an even swap". I asked Matt if he saw Tony's text, but either he did not see it or he did not understand the English it was written in? The text is not ambiguous at all and can only be read one way. Can you verify with Matt Sewitski and Tony Atkins by requesting Tony's texts, or have they been deleted? I have them. The texts don't lie. I don't care what they do with the car. I did not tell them what to do with the car. The car still sits in our driveway with 203 miles where we parked it at 10:30 pm on 5/25/2023. I was simply exercising what Tony Atkin told me to do..."give me a call if she(Joy) doesn't like it and we'll get you something else". Furthermore, Apple Tree Honda is very strategic to limit if not eliminate ways for a customer to contact them to leave a message, email, or cell phone message. One receptionist at Apple Tree did finally understand that I needed to speak with Matt Sewitski when she transferred me to his cell phone. Let’s get the legal out of the way by stating all words

and statements here are just my opinion of our purchase of a 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid Sport L from Apple Tree Honda on 5/25/2023 for $37400...which was over $2000 more than the agreed upon price. Car had 137 miles from Manager driving it. Sales contract had 114 miles, the mileage disclosure statement said 135 but when we started home it had over 137 miles. I asked and they refused several times to remove the $1999 Honda Protection Plan. The Salesman Tony A. and Manager Jody D. both said, “Plan was not negotiable and we couldn’t buy the car if we did not pay for it”. That is not legal! The FTC require dealers to obtain consumers’ express, informed consent for charges, prohibit the sale of any add-on product or service that confers no benefit to the consumer. They would not negotiate at all. The Protection Plan: - 4 wheel lock nuts - 1 trunk mat - Interior/Exterior Diamond sealant? - Oil changes we could not use living 1 1/2 hours away. Non Honda average reviews have them at 3.1 out of 5 Stars. That a 62% rating people. Yelp is even worse: 2 Stars out of 5. That’s 40%! I wish I had checked ratings more than I did, and I so wish they did not have the color car my wife wanted! Tony fumbled about showing us the car. He did program my wife’s phone and some door lock preferences? He could not program my phone. Then we were abruptly interrupted to sign papers and pay. No more instructions and no test drive until after papers were signed. Most importantly, neither my wife or I were able to test drive the car. Moreover, the 2023 Hybrid Accord is not a just get in and drive car like a non hybrid car. Once in front of Michael Duncan who was in charge of signing everything and taking our check for the inflated purchase price, he also tried to sell more maintenance and endless insurance products but he was honest about what was optional and we were able to deflect more expensive add ons. Once we were finished with Michael, Tony tried to further explain the car in the dark in front of the dealership well past 9pm. Most instruction consisted of him scrolling left and right on the infotainment screen trying to find settings. When he was finished, I had to ask for directions for as many backroads as possible for our drive home. Tony then just left us in the dark in front of the dealership saying “call me if she doesn’t like it and we’ll get her something else.” Less than 10 hours later I called Tony at 7:55 am the next morning asking to do just that. He texted me back over 4 hours later (I guess after they made sure our check had cleared) and said, “Spoke with my manager and he can’t unwind the deal .. to trade for the (Accord) Ex would be an even swap” “ I am with a customer right now”. Just so everyone knows, an Accord Ex is $31,000 out the door. What a gratious offer? We just paid $37,400 the night before! Now that’s Special isn’t it? Now just let that sink in for anyone remotely considering doing business with Apple Tree Honda! I have all texts saved, all of this sent to the FTC as well as the NCDOJ (That’s the North Carolina Department of Justice). More consumers are going to have to stand up for themselves and others when these business practices are found out. I then tried to speak with Matt S... the General Sales Manager. Receptionist would not give me his number, his email, but she did transfer me to his full voicemail...never got to speak with him either. Nice business model they have at Apple Tree Honda. I filed a claim with FTC report #160300154 on June 1, 2023 at 1:46am and with NCDOJ June 2, 2023 at 1:31pm. Consumers must have the resolve and find the resources in the law to protect how business should be done in North Carolina. Just because it happens a lot of the time doesn’t mean it is legal, ethical or moral. They have classes you can take if you need to know the difference Apple Tree Honda!

I was on a road trip with my husband.

Both of us are 75+. We could not get the fiob to open our trunk. We pulled into the service bay and were informed they were too busy to help us. When we returned home, our local dealership helped us with a 5 minute phone call to unlock the valet switch. Whoever helped us at your dealership, either did not know about valet switch or didn’t want to be bothered with us. I was very disappointed with our interaction with the service department at your dealership.

buying today. Before we could get to the dealership this morning - (our salesman was to arrive at 9 a.m.) we Received a text from Salesman at 9:01 that the care was sold and my deposit would be mailed to me. They sold the car yesterday obviously so my hold deposit was worthless. I guess we should have been there waiting on salesman to arrive. Will never return to Appletree. This would have been our 4th car purchased from them. Nasty!

I can not say enough good things about Appletree Honda.

Betsy Woods is THE BEST!!! I had been looking for a Honda Accord for a couple of months. I live in Phenix City, AL and do lots of traveling to South Carolina. I had tried several dealerships in a couple of states, but none seemed interested in even selling me a vehicle. Betsy not only sell me a car, but she stayed in constant contact with me my entire trip up, helping me get paperwork done before my arrival and had the car detailed and ready to go. I was warmly greeted as soon as I walked in. The process was informative, friendly, and timely. Thanks to everyone at Appletree Honda

So I've never bought a car here, but I used to work with

the Finance Director Chris Lewis at another WNC dealership some years ago where he was the New Car Sales Manager. Chris has decades of automotive experience and was one of my favorite managers to work with in the car business. He's always a no nonsense straight shooter, a certified good 'ol boy, and always strives to exceed customer expectations. He's one of two people I'd pick in WNC to spin my paper (as they say), and of course you can't go wrong with a Honda. I mean...they're Hondas. Signed, A xxxx Yankee Andrew Karsen

Basically every experience I’ve had at this dealership

has been a joke. I went to purchase a brand new car and ended up working with Betsy. While she wasn’t horrible she definitely had no knowledge about the Hondas and what all the vehicles offer. She was more interested in making a sale than making sure I was happy. Due to them being out of stock I had to order a car. Now I know when you order a car you can choose the colors and whatnot but she only gave me the option to choose exterior and acted like choosing more wasn’t even an option. When my car arrived I gave it a quick walk around and noticed on my trunk some discoloration in the paint and obviously wanted it fixed. Was told that would be no issue. Paperwork was done, pictures were done, etc. never received a call to fix the issue. Reached out to Betsy who basically told me she was busy working on deals and would get back to me when she was done. Did hear back and she claimed she had got it worked out and I should be receiving a call. Again that didn’t happen. Finally called service dept and was told they had no record of paperwork being done oor pictures taken of the issue and I needed to bring my car back in for that part to be done. Had that done and worked with Brenda who was great. The discoloration was done and everything looks great. But then I was due for my first oil change. Made an appointment for first thing Saturday am. Arrived and place was already slammed. Lady that took my info never gave her name or anything. I did make the mistake of taking my keys with me and had to bring them back and handed them over to a man wearing a nice shirt who was super nice. 3hrs later hadn’t heard anything about my car. Proceeded to ask Melissa Orr if she could give an update and she got an extremely rude attitude saying that I needed to be speaking with whoever helped me when I first came in. Asking who it was and was extremely agitated. After this experience with Melissa and then plus the lack of care from Betsy who was only interested in selling cars and not her actual customers, I do NOT plan on coming back. I regret purchasing a car from here and will not recommend it to anyone. I also want to add that while waiting on my oil change my boyfriend and I were walking around lot to pass time. We were looking at a car when a salesman came out and asked if we had any questions. After asking that he said the car was sold and immediately drove it off the lot. Whether this was his intention or not I felt like he thought we were staying at one of the nearby motels and didn’t want us walking around. I told him we were waiting on my car to be serviced but his reaction made me feel as though he didn’t believe me. Honestly more than half of the staff here is unprofessional and rude. Do better. I should also add that after waiting 3hrs on oil change my oil notification was not reset and I had to do it myself.

In November I purchased a BMW from Apple Tree. They

provided us with the carfax report and you would think coming from a legit dealership that the car would not have any issues and at first it did great. In late December I noticed that there was a jerking when shifting gears. I decided to take it to the BMW dealership to have it looked at. I then get a call from BMW later the same day explaining what was wrong with the car, I explain to them that I have a warranty on the car that we paid for when purchasing. I was told that the warranty was void due to a bad seal around the trunk that was causing a fuel electrical issue among other things that came to some a here around 3800 to 4000 dollars of repairs. Now my car is back in the shop again with something wrong with the engine. I left a review on Appletrees Google with a number to call and talk to them about the issues. I have attempted to call multiple times even spoke to a couple people that said they would make sure to have Matt Sewickzy to contact me back. I still have HEARD NOTHING!!!! I truly don't know how much more unprofessional one business can be. You would think when spending thousands of dollars a business would back there product or maybe at least return a phone call

Made an appointment to have our car repaired and dropped

it off the night before. They didn’t take our car at the appointed time and they took other cars that were dropped off that day. They called us about the repair and gave us a quote but didn’t take into account or extended warranty. It wound up costing more than we anticipated. I will probably not go back.

Went in for service. Told I needed a $50 part that

“snapped” into place. Ordered and paid for part in advance. Came back for ”simple” install, signed work order for $0 labor charge. Was later informed that the labor would be $150. Told them that didn’t make sense and asked to be credited for the part. They refused. I’ll find another dealership. I don’t get it. They lost my business on 2 vehicles over a plastic part that probably cost them $30.

This is to recognize Jeff of the service department for

his outstanding performance on Saturday morning, in getting our vehicle repaired and returned to us in a very timely manner. Jeff went above and beyond the expected level of customer service. He is definitely an asset to Appletree Honda service.

Would not recommend this “stealership” as they will

lowball. Buyer beware. Made an hour and half commute and ended up getting the typical run around. I had substantial cash down payment; and trade in as well. but they blew it. You’d think business would learn that a satisfied consumer is usually a returning consumer...🤔

For over 16 years, AppleTree Honda has flawlessly

maintained our 2004 Honda Element, and AppleTree continues to maintain our 2016 Accord...and on October 11, 2021, we were very pleased with every aspect of the purchase of our new 2021 CR-V from AppleTree Honda. Betsy Woods was the very capable sales person who skillfully took us through the purchase, and business manager Zain Rigsby flawlessly completed the process. Both individuals are exceptionally professional in every respect...knowledgable, efficient, patient and helpful.

I bought a Fit from Apple Tree Honda. The check engine

light came on at 15,000 miles. The computer diagnostic codes stated emissions leaks which they could not find, so they concluded I didn't tighten the gas cap properly. Mark, the service rep, claimed the owners manual states the gas cap should be tightened until you hear 3 clicks. I checked, and the manual clearly states to tighten until you hear 1 click which is what I've always done. I was charged $145 because this wasn't covered under warranty. 30 miles after I left the service department, the check engine light appeared again. Mark also made me wait 30 minutes after the mechanics had finished with the car. I finally went to his desk and he said, "they should be bringing your car around any minute". I informed him that my car had been sitting in the customer pick up area for 30 minutes, and the keys were on his desk. He had been busy chatting with his coworkers for those 30 minutes. I had been assigned this particular service rep for the two oil changes conducted there, and I had to search for him down each time the service was completed. This is my first, and last, Honda.

I recently had my Ridgeline serviced at Apple Tree Honda.

Service was excellent and as always, Brenda was very knowledgeable about my vehicle. Unfortunately I am unable to do your survey about the experience because DISH is intercepting my emails.

I recently purchased a 2013 Honda Civic from Apple Tree

Honda. It has been many years since I last bought a car and I had a lot of anxiety about having to do so. Apple Tree Honda was highly recommended to me and I am so glad I acted on that recommendation. The folks at Apple Tree Honda were so wonderful to deal with. I love my Honda Civic! I plan on being a lifetime customer of Apple Tree Honda. Now I am thrilled to recommend Apple Tree Honda to anyone making their next car purchase. They are the best!!! Susan King First Grade Teacher

Their customer service is abysmal. Bad, close to

non-existent. Bought a car recently here. A week later I had a simple question and couldn't get a call back. On my 5th attempt to get ahold of the financing guy, Mike, I was hung up on by the receptionist. Also, HIDDEN FEES. They couldn't even explain the 1k hidden fee which they call Vehicle Prep or something like that. Basically you're just going to get screwed. I got the 4k extended warranty and now I'm having trouble using this warranty. I set up an appointment to have my rims repaired and they told me they have some 3rd party guy come and do it but that he can't work in the rain, so they cancelled the appointment and told me to schedule directly with the guy himself. When I asked them to text me his number they said they would but never did. This place could win my trust back, but it's going to take a little follow through and effort on their part.

The Honda service department and specifically Brenda

McCraw did an outstanding job repairing my Honda Odyssey. The braking system was exceptional noisy and the brake pedal went almost to the floor when stepped on. The shop found that the brake pads were installed improperly and that there was air in the master cylinder cables. The service department was able to get me in just before the 4th holiday. My thanks to the whole team for a job well done. You have won another customer!! Dan Gaines

I will not be back to this place, not even to have them

put air in my tires! This has been the worst experience I have ever had with any business ever. I got a car from them and in the first week it broke down and left my child and myself stranded in another state (12 hours from home). The service center I was able to get it to was having issues with the warranty company so I called Apple tree to find out what’s going on. One of their sales “managers” told me he would call the company and find out what was going on and call me right back, he never called me back. Called again and talked to another sales “manager” and he was rude and arrogant from the start. Told me “whatever way you and your daughter find to get home and whether the car works or not you’re paying for it.” Who does business like this. I have called multiple times a day every day for weeks to get them to do the right thing and they have been dodging my calls and not returning my messages. They are the most dishonest and cowardly company I’ve ever seen. I will be filing a report with the BBB, Honda of America, and the FTC for clear violations as well as obtaining legal representation to get this matter resolved since they can’t and won’t take care of their customers without being forced to.

Appletree Honda has been my best car buying experience!

Everyone is friendly and very helpful. Betsy took really good care of getting me and my 3 kiddos into a vehicle that is just the right fit for us AND I even made a new friend in Betsy!

Our Honda CRV tire pressure light went on while on the

expressway and we pulled off the next exit. Surprised to see Apple Tree Honda Dealership off the exit. The service writer James King was super helpful and knowledgeable to make our delay and concern a pleasant experience. We pulled in with no appointment at 1:30pm and left at 3pm on a Friday afternoon. It appeared that the oil and tire service at the local Honda dealership in Florida put the tire pressure at 51 psi and not 32 as recommended. Thank you James for helping us on our trip and only wish we could have your expertise and professionalism back home.
