About Dealers Reviews

In short

An independent, buyer-side review platform for dealerships across heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, RVs, boats, powersports, cars, aircraft and more — built on proof-of-purchase verification, human-checked reviews, and a hard line against pay-to-play.

Who we are

Dealers Reviews is an independent platform where people who buy from dealerships tell the truth about how it went. Not the sale price. The whole thing — how they were treated, whether the machine showed up as promised, how the dealer handled it when something went wrong.

We cover dealers across a lot of ground: heavy and farm equipment, commercial trucks, trailers, RVs, boats, powersports, cars, aircraft, lawn and outdoor power, and auction houses. Different worlds, same problem. When you're about to hand someone a five- or six-figure check, you want to know who you're really dealing with — and that information is almost never in one place.

Why this needs to exist

Right now, a dealer's real reputation is scattered everywhere and nowhere. It lives in a 40-page forum thread from 2019, in a Facebook group you have to be invited to join, in a text your neighbor sent you, in the gut feeling you got standing on the lot. Good luck pulling that together the week you're trying to close a deal.

And a lot of the reviews that are easy to find sit on platforms owned by the same industry being reviewed — listing sites and marketplaces that make their money from the dealers. When the people selling you the machine also control the scoreboard, the score is hard to trust.

We think buyers deserve a place that answers to them and no one else. That's the entire reason we exist.

What we do differently

We're not trying to be another star-rating widget. A few things are non-negotiable for us:

  • Proof-of-purchase verification. We ask reviewers to show they actually bought from the dealer they're reviewing. A real transaction behind a review is worth more than a hundred anonymous opinions.
  • Every review is read by a human. No review goes live on autopilot. A person checks it — for the verification, for the details, for whether it's a real buyer experience and not a competitor or a grudge.
  • No pay-to-play, ever. Dealers cannot buy their way to the top, purchase a badge, or pay to have an honest review taken down. There is no premium tier that changes a score. Placement is earned by buyers' words, not a dealer's budget.
  • Cross-category coverage. From a compact tractor to a used semi to a bass boat to a turboprop, it's the same platform and the same standard. You shouldn't have to relearn where to look every time you buy something different.
  • Honest about what we know. If we don't have enough verified reviews on a dealer yet, we say so plainly instead of dressing up thin data as a verdict.

What independence actually means

Independence is easy to put on a homepage and hard to live by. For us it means the rules are the same for every dealer, whether we've never heard of them or they'd love to write us a check. Dealers can respond to reviews and correct the record — that's fair. What they can't do is pay for placement, pay for a badge, or pay to make a verified review disappear.

We'd rather grow slower and stay trustworthy than cash in on the one thing that makes this platform worth using.

Who it's for

This is built for the people making real purchases with real money — farmers and ranchers, contractors and operators, fleet and owner-operators, boaters, RVers, riders, pilots, and anyone shopping a serious machine who wants to know what they're walking into.

It's also for the honest dealers. Good dealers have been carrying the whole industry's reputation on their backs for years, lumped in with the ones who cut corners. A place where verified buyers can vouch for real service is a place where doing right finally shows up on the record.

We're new — and we're building this in the open

Here's the honest part: we're new and still growing. Some categories and regions already have real coverage; others are just getting started. We're not going to pretend a handful of reviews is a definitive ranking, and we're not going to pad the numbers to look bigger than we are.

The platform gets more useful every time a verified buyer takes a few minutes to share how their purchase actually went. If you've bought from a dealer — a great one or a rough one — your review is the thing that makes the next buyer's decision easier. That's the whole idea, and we're glad you're here for the early part of it.
