Van Bortel Ford

We dropped the car off the night before After. noticing a dent in my daughter's Ford Fusion after service at this dealership two years ago I have since taken pictures of my car everywhere I service it. The next morning I patiently waited for a call to pick up my Bronco that required a NY inspection, oil change and an outstanding recall. Weeks before Van Bortel called me at home that they wanted to come to my home to complete the recall in my driveway. She said it would take about 15 minutes. I declined explaining I would be in for an appointment soon and they could just do it then. Well 3 hours passed so I called the dealership. There was no answer. I waited a few minutes called again, no answer. I waited another hour, it has now been 4 1/2 hours and someone finally answers the call. He checks the status and tells me my car is not yet complete and my mechanic has gone to lunch. He says he'll call me when it's done. The call came just before 2:00 pm. You can do the math and determine if that is a reasonable time for such an appointment. I think not. Was dropped off at 4:00 to get my car. In the office there is four people. One guy heping a customer. Two other guys sitting at a desk just chatting, and a woman in a booth. The one guy working had to go tag a vehicle and left. It was only then that I was asked if I needed something. I said I was picking up a car and he says you need to go to the cashier. Well the cashier was not visible to anyone and I had known, I would have sought her attention instead if standing there awkwardly for several minutes. I completed the payment and left. This dealership has a major parking problem as cars new and old are parked in every direction. My car was parked crooked in the space with larger cars on either side. When i checked my vehicle I immediately noticed a small ding near my gas tank. As I had taken pictures the day before I knew it was fresh. It appeared that gas was added to my car because I was close to empty. My car was nearly flawless and I am certain this was done at the dealership. When it happened on my daughters car it was 10 tears old and had seen better days. My Bronco is a 2021. I didn't return to the office given the reception I had just received. No one would own up to it I am sure. We have had many Fords over the years, some bought at Van Borel all serviced there. We will not be returning. For any future recalls , and I am certain more are coming on this Bronco, i will go back to where I purchased the car. I am not impressed with the lack of time management, communication, common courtesy and care provided my vehicle. I am done with Van Bortel Ford.

heater/AC blower motor switch repaired. The wait time was a month. I told the service rep what was going on as the fan switch worked in only the 2 highest settings. He said, "It's probably the "blower motor resister." I said ok. I told them my back window wasn't rolling down w/the switches but I didn't want to spend money repairing that but, could you check it for me? I get a call in the afternoon to pick up my car and get shuttled back to the dealership. Upon going to the payment window, I'm told I owe them $411.00?:-/ They charged a full hour to tell me my window was not a switch gone bad and, another hour to do a 30 min., two bolt, plug and play resistor replacement part. I questioned them about it there as the pay window is adjacent the service desk. The service person looked at it and said "Yep, that's what it costs, no discrepancy here." I'm glad so many are impressed, but, I'm not. This is a "one and done" for me! It's a shame. Nice facility, but, this was a part that Advance Auto sells for $25. And, anyone could figure it out by watching a YouTube video. PS: Not to mention the fact that they found a nail in my back tire and wanted to know if they could order 2 new tires for me. (I know that's some dealers policy) I told them no, I was aware of it and I had a tire on the way that will be installed the next day. I'm just saying. Buyer be advised.

Best car dealership experience, ever! My wife and I have never been so favorably impressed. To start, the overall atmosphere/ambiance of the showroom was relaxing & welcoming. Dan was so knowledgeable, so personable, so charming! My wife appreciated his ability to understand her finely-tuned sense of aesthetics, and helped ease the transition from driving some cute car from Los Angeles….to driving a full-size pick-up truck. As for me, I was under some time constraints to purchase a “tow vehicle” for a recently purchased travel trailer. Had to wrap it up in two days, in order to make the trip to meet the trailer’s seller, to transact the deal. Dan made it happen! He definitely went way out of his way to accommodate our quick turnaround, and we will never forget him. He didn’t push his own agenda; instead, just listened to us, and went with the flow. bronco sport, car was in prestine condition when I dropped it off, upon driving home I noticed a large grease stain on my passenger side leather seat, they also threw the old tires on my rear leather seats leaving dirt stones and other debris all over the interior. 1 of the rims had scrapes on it as well. I called 2 times couldn't get ahold of anyone at the service center so I used their text messaging service. When they finally answered that they claimed there was no record of my vehicle being worked on there and insisted I must've taken it to subaru or Chevy. What a joke of an establishment. Brand new $40,000 vehicle they xxxxed up and had the audacity to argue with me about it. Avoid them at all costs. Van bortel subaru has their business squared away and running like clockwork, true professionals. But van bortel ford is literally the worst dealer I've ever experienced.

they messed up. My husband called Van Bortel Ford about my ‘14 Ford fusion. The girl on the other end of the phone told us to bring it in and they would fit it in where they could, no appointment needed. They called us a few days after we dropped it off and said we needed an appointment, so we made an appointment (July 10th). We left the car there because something was wrong with the front struts and there was a recall. When we made the appointment, we explained to Andy our service advisor, that we were taking this car on a cross-country road trip to Seattle to give to a family member for his first car and we needed it by end of day July 12th. In the time the car was sitting in the parking lot, the battery had died and needed to be replaced because it was on the older side and lost its charge. They replaced the battery. Then they brought it in to diagnose it and told us Monday, July 10th that they had all of the parts in stock and that the car would indeed be done by the desired date(July 12th EOD). July 12th came, we hadn’t had a phone update, so I called Thursday the 13th and got Michael because Andy was not there, and he told me that they had ordered a part and that the part had just come in that morning and that the car would be done tomorrow, July 14th by end of day. I called my husband and told him what they told me and I asked if he had explained our situation and that we were leaving with the car as our transportation at 5pm July 14th. He told me that he had and that he would be calling them shortly after we hung up with each other. When he called, he was told again by Michael the same story I was told. My husband explained to michael the situation we were in, again, and also asked why we didn’t get a phone call explaining that there was a part they had to order and were waiting for, when the car had been there in the parking lot for 3 WEEKS(never got the answer to that question). My husband told Michael to have it done by NOON July 14th because we were picking up the car….. They had the car done by noon the July 14th so we could pick it up but the hassle my husband and I went through to make sure the car got fixed in a timely manner, and the lack of communication on fords end is ridiculous. The car was dropped off and sat for 3 whole weeks and no one bothered to look at it for diagnostics and ordering parts ahead of time. We both work at a different dealership and we understand how busy every dealership is, we are busy as well and barely have time to squeeze things into the schedule at our shop as well, but we manage to get the tow ins into the shop where we can. If you didn’t have time I would have much rather you tell me. If I had to make an appointment I would have liked to know upfront and if it didn’t work out I would have gone elsewhere, but I was told to just bring it in no appointment needed. And then I was told that all parts were in stock, when they weren’t all in stock and I had to be the one to inquire about an update instead of being informed. Then when all was said and done we got the car two days later than we needed it. What’s wrong with this picture. The car drove perfectly and we had no problems driving it across the country. But all the other stuff, I’m not happy. I know if this was Van Bortel Subaru this would have never been an issue.
