The car needed a new coolant thermostat. The total cost was an absurd $3,657.98. The parts cost $1,117 and the labor was $2,400.88. Assuming the labor took 8 hours (which is generous), the hourly labor rate comes to $300.11/hr. On top of that, they charge 3% additional if you use a credit card to pay.
