So to keep this nightmare short I will just say this.

I was lied to by more than one person at this dealership during my purchase of a 2024 Terrian Denali. They told me I could not get ANY of the discounts and GM rebates if I did not do GM financing. This was a lie and tactic to make more money off of the sale. Next they listed the vechile on a thrid party web site (where I found it) almost a $1000 less than what they told me when I called on it and would not honor the listed price. Then the sales guy begged me to give him a 5 star review with a story of how much he needed it to takecare of his family. Then they rushed me out the door and failed to clean and prepare the car. It was so bad that I could not see at night through the windshield when lights hit the window. They did clean it the next day after I lost it on them. Never travel out of town for a purchase as they have you over a barrel. Even GM Financing would do nothing to make this right. I finally had to give up on them making this right with me.

We had such a great experience with Dennis Dillon GMC -

We recently purchased a a new Acadia, and came from Seattle, WA. We saved about $3,000 from our local dealer and had a great experience! They picked us up from the airport, and had us done and back on the road in less than 2 hours. This was by far the best experience and delivery that I have ever had buying a car! Thank you to the General Manager Joey, glad we were sent to you guys in Boise!

this was the worst experience I have ever had in trying

to buy a new vehicle. The salesman did a good job and all was good until we went to close the deal. I was paying cash so it should have been an easy transaction. We got to the final negotiations and then came the finance guy followed by the sales manager (closer). It was all about pressure to close and force me into a deal. I left and will never be back to Dennis Dillon and will do everything I can to dissuade anyone I know from going through that painful process. As a result I went home, got on the internet and found the exact same vehicle for $2500 less and had it bought the next day. Thank you Kendall Motors.

What happened to Dennis Dillon on Orchard?

I’ve purchased from them in the past and had a great experience. This last experience was very poor. My wife and I test drove a ‘21 Tundra Limited. Interior was gross and when Kordell, the sales person, was told it would need a detail he acted like the concern was invalid because they all get detailed. It was wiped down at best and had spills and crumbs all over. He also asked my wife what we wanted for a trade in. She responded we weren’t going to discuss that yet he looked straight at me and asked the same question as if i would answer differently. It reminds me of a child asking mom, not liking the answer, and then asking dad hoping for a different answer. To top it all off I informed him of all the information and that’s why we won’t come back and he laughed at the message. Would not recommend Dennis Dillon GMC.

Dishonest, uncaring, manipulative.

Stay away from these guys. I shouldn't even give them one star. Don't believe a word they say. We were also charged for a blinking tail light that we did not want. Worst dealership experience, ever.

On September 02 2023.

I bought 2022 GMC 3500 from Dealership. My complaint has several complainants. !. I still have not received a copy of the contract, so I have no idea what I paid for the truck. 2. They held my "pink slip" ransom, until I had to go to the dealership in person and enter the finance, Larry’s office and remove my slip from his office wall so I could register my truck. 3. The worst is Larry totally MISREPRESENTED the financing of the deal. He signed me up for bi-weekly or semi-monthly payments through my Credit Union. BUT he totally misrepresented that this financing payments actually goes through a third-party company called SMARTPAY. 4. I want to cancel the SMARTPAY and pay my back directly BUT the dealership refuses to do it and now refuses to answer my calls or call me back. "They want me to wait 90 days, so they get paid by SMARTPAY. I am pleased with the truck but will never go back to this dealership. My Credit Union has admitted tis dealership is a problem and SMARTPAY is also a problem, but they do not have access to my account to help me. They just funded it.

Dishonest!

The $998 Brake Light Add On, which they require, is absolute robbery! The brake blinking light costs around $100, at most, and requires removing 2 screws to replace OEM light. I guess DD thinks the sticker is worth $898 (which they remove prior to the truck leaving the lot.) The idea of the brake light plan paying out is nonsense when considering the implications of who pays if rear ended. The purchasing process was terrible and will never recommend DD to anyone.

Just left this dealer.

Price and discount were lies. Slide $1700 in to the final deal for blinking tail lights. Would not remove it, said they would lose money. Discount is totally bogus and dishonest. They let me walk out. Salesman, Dave, was only bright spot at the "rip you off dealer"

BUYER BEWARE!

! This dealer is full of sleazy tricks. Stay away! In my case, they listed and quoted me a good price, but when they wrote up the contracts the price was nearly $1,700 higher – a classic bait-and-switch. When I questioned them, they said the increase was for some safety and security features they added on – without my consent. In fact, I had specifically told them I didn’t want the add-ons (the features were a blinking brake light and some ID sticker on the door frames). They said they add these features to all of their vehicles. This is a highly unethical and possibly illegal trick. If a vehicle has added options, the price of those options should be included in the price – just like automatic transmission, power windows, etc. When I protested, they brought out a manager to high-pressure me into taking the add-ons. It was quite insulting. After a lot of arguing over two days I finally got them to remove the add-ons and reduce the price to what they originally quoted. But that wasn’t the end. When I went into the DMV to get the plates, I had to pay an additional $100 in sales tax – taxes I had already paid to Dillon. The tax they listed on the contract was correct, but the check they sent to the State was $100 less than what they themselves had listed on the contract and agreed to send to the State. So I paid that $100 in taxes twice. I will never go near this dealership again, and feel an obligation to warn others to stay away as well.

Dealership completely lied to me over the phone about my car being ready. It wasn’t ready for over 3 weeks! They kept saying it was here then there, just back and forth avoiding giving an answer. I ended up losing money working with them because they weren’t willing to take any blame in the matter. Josh is a snake 🐍

I was willing to purchase a vehicle during their

clearance sale. I received an insultingly low trade-in value for my truck of $900.00. They jacked me around when I wanted my keys to my truck back by offering me BS. When I received a follow-up phone call, I explained to the sales rep what I was offered and not to waste his breath.

I had to take my 2019 RAM 3500 into service for a recall

and batteries were acting up. Meet with Evan in Service at the Caldwell Dennis Dillion and he had everything checked out and serviced. I had mentioned that I was unable to get my phone to pair and work in the truck anymore too, and in past visits I was told that it was an update issue and it was nothing they could do about it. Evan however took a look at it and was able to adjust the settings to allow the phone to "mirror" in the truck again and got it working again. There is still an issue with the truck software and my phone from time to time disconnecting, But Evan was able to get my phone paired and mirrored to the truck screen again and he took the time to show my how he did it in case it happens again. He has been the best service guy I have worked with yet. I really appreciate Evan taking the time to show me and fix it.

LIARS & THIEVES They advertise a "sale price" online

with zero information this isn't what they are selling the vehicle for. I got pre-approval for the sales price, sales tax and doc fee and then suddenly the price increased 2k on the truck because I wasn't financing directly with them. I read other reviews they charge $1,200 for a stupid blinking third tail light and try to sneak a bunch of other things into the deal last second. They also won't work with you at all online or over the phone. They make you wait in their waiting room for hours while they don't seem to do anything at all except screw around on the price. You can't get them to put anything on paper to make sense of it all because they know their practices are illegal. Please don't be duped by these guys. Avoid if at all possible but if you have to do business with them triple check everything.

Think twice about doing business with Dennis Dillon Aug

10, 2022 had the oil changed as usual. Jordan Becker was the service writer. He assured me I would be charged the same as always since we purchased the car at Dennis Dillon Nissan Boise. He said the computer put the incorrect charges down, but he wrote the correct amount on my invoice. This is the price I have been charged the last 6 years since I purchased the car at Dennis Dillon. Same price as several, family members have been charged as well. Aug 15, 2022 @ 9:45 am- Called in to talk with Jordan as I was charged $65.68, instead of the $33.87 which I have always been charged and agreed upon. Not a big amount but principal. Tim answered the phone and said Jordan was off could he be of assistance. I explained the problem, he pulled up the invoice and said he would take care of it today and call me back once completed. He did not call back. Aug 16, 2022 @ 8:15 am- Ronnie answered and said Jordan was with a customer. He said he could take a message and have Jordan call me right back. Aug 16, 2022 @9:45 am Wes answered and said Jordan was not in. I said Ronnie said earlier he was in and with a customer. He said I meant he was not at his desk. He wanted me to leave a message. I said I had already left a message. I assumed he was not going to return my call so I told Wes I will take care of it and cancel payment on my credit card. I guess that got Jordan’s attention. Aug 16, 2022- 5 minutes later Jordan called me back and said he had resolved the problem , and would have a credit to my credit card no later than Aug 17, 2022. August 22, 2022- No credit on my credit card and no phone call from anyone at Dennis Dillon. I have emailed and called the general manager, executive manager and service manager. None of them returned my call or email. So our family got together this weekend and determined that over the last 6 years we as a group have purchased 14 new vehicles from Dennis Dillon and have spent an average of $9,872. per year in the service department. This has ended and we will no longer do business with any Dennis Dillon establishment. We also agree with other reviews regarding the credit manger….a real jerk.

If I could give them 0 or negative stars I would.

Absolutely the worst car buying experience I have ever had. Constantly throwing different dealership requirements at you until you are backed into a corner and either walk away from your non refundable $1,000.00 or purchase the vehicle. They know exactly what they are doing every step of the process and to be honest its disturbing. Not sure how some of them sleep at night with their tactics! The real kicker is they require you to utilize their "preferred" bank of which they get a kick back on the interest rate. They then threaten you that you can't refinance for 6 months and even suggested that they have hired an attorney to go after people who refinance earlier. Can only put 20% down, have to finance for 72 months, have to use this bank or that bank. Do not buy from this dealership, hands down worst ever!

Basically I hate surprises… My shopping experience at

Dennis Dilon GMC had multiple unpleasant surprises... 1. Ordered truck…. Signed build for $68,535…. Same price as two other dealers I researched…. Thought it was an out the door price except for “normal” doc fees and title and taxes…. Mentioned to my saleman Alfred that I planned on using the GMC 0% financing offer…. Then Alfred informed me of the Dillon financing option and that it would cost me $2K more if not used… that was surprise 1 2. Sent in cash offer form for my 2018 Chev Silverado 2500HD tradein on the Dillon website…. Offer came back at a little over $45K…. Sent detailed pics and specs of truck to sales team and theyu called back with an offer of $41…. I was flabbergasted... After arguing back and forth Dillon did relent to honoring the web form offer…. Surprise 2 3. At closing, I still chose the gmc 0% financing offer and expected the $2K "surcharge"…. The sales team now insisted it was $3K more…. Surprise 3 4. I chose their financing option to save the $3K and then the final write up included an additional $1,700 of previously undeclosed dealer charges…. Surprise 4... Skyler at Dillon made the financing option better with a decent finance rate and short term conditions to pay back if I wish. Still think Dillon may be standing on thin ice on the trade in sales tax issue and WA sales tax guidelines with restricting down payment to 20% and giving the difference back to the customer in the form of an "equity" check…. But I am depending they know best on that issue… I am happy with the truck and the fact the truck came in 4 months waiting, but would NOT buy from this dealer again… Poor communication and changing conditions during the sales experience... I would just choose another dealer and wait for the truck longer...

This is 3 years post sell…find out during a trade that

this dealership straight up misled my wife. I had made a mistake and had my credit file locked when they ram our credit. When we realized it, I asked them to rerun my credit. They said they did and nothing changed but when I went to trade in 3 years later find out that they didn’t even title in my name. They put me as a co-signer and we paid higher interest, that we didn’t need to, because they were straight up lazy. I will never buy from Dennis Dillon again after they do shady finance work like this. I bought CPO so know they got dealer kickbacks and everything. And yes…my name was on the application for title. Going to talk to an attorney to see if I have a case for small claims.

It really sucks that a small part of a company can make

the entire company look terrible. I’ve spent a significant amount of money with Dennis Dillon in the last year and a half. Both at the GMC store and the Power Sports store… My experience with the sales side of things couldn’t have been better. In fact, I have another Yukon Denali on order. However, when I started to have issues with my brand new Yukon, service has pretty much treated me as if I’m a liar and that my concerns are of no importance. In fact, the last two times I was in there, my service writer told me that he doesn’t need this job because he has a side business. I can’t begin to explain to you how frustrating that is given the amount of money that I’ve spent with the Dillons and the amount of time I’ve invested, since purchasing, in their service department. Even more frustrating because I have ANOTHER order placed. Mind you, on a brand new vehicle, I don’t believe I should have to spend hardly any time in the service department, aside from routine maintenance. I have had nothing but electrical issues, creaking noises, you name it, it’s probably happened. I’ve got video evidence of the issues that I am experiencing, but they don’t seem to care. And it definitely shows with the response that I’m getting from their service writers. Good for you and your side business! No wonder the service department is falling behind… The people that man the desk are focused on their own business. What a joke. Being a local, family owned business, I thought they would treat their customers more like family. The more I deal with the Dillons, the more I realize they’re just like big corporations. Using their consumers as steppingstones to reach the top. Hopefully they can get this figured out. The more I deal with this business, the more Kendal looks appealing.

BUYERS BEWARE (especially out of state)! In short, this

dealership sells vehicles for MSRP and offers competitive pricing to entice buyers into entering into a contract with them. Once they have your deposit and your vehicle arrives, nothing can be done electronically. Anyone who is going to be on the loan must travel and sign everything IN PERSON. Additionally, you are required to finance through one of their preferred lenders and pay an inflated interest rate (on average 2 points higher than your qualifying rate) So actually, you do not pay less for the vehicle, you just pay it in interest rather than principal. Just a less transparent, or deceptive, way of tacking on an addendum. Additionally, they require you to keep your financing for at least seven months. All of this is called predatory lending, and it’s illegal and deceptive. If you express concerns or ask questions about these tactic, sales management just talks over you, interrupts, lets you know you’re wrong, and then will pull the deal because they “want to avoid receiving a poor survey returned from GM.” Customer service is about transparency, listening and hearing your customers, and general caring. This dealership has none of those qualities. Since we were not given the opportunity to fill out a survey with GM regarding our experience, I will be filing a complaint with the BBB, Idaho Office of the Attorney General as well as a complaint with GM.

Very dishonest business practices, boarding illegal. We

thought we were purchasing a new 2022 GMC Yukon XL. Fast forward a month later when the car arrived and we went to go finish the deal. We had about 40% to put down on the car when they decided to tell us that they cap your down payment at $14k and you have to finance through them and have the option refinance after 6 months of payments. But here’s where the plot thickens even more, they can’t even tell you what kind of interest rates they are offering for well qualified buyers which is yet another red flag. So they will undoubtedly run your credit and come back with some absurd interest rate so they can cash in on you. And if you don’t finance through them they tack on a penalty fee. All of this just very conveniently comes to light after you have signed over a $1000 deposit that just so happens to be non-refundable. Of course that contract doesn’t mention any of these financing stipulations nor is it EVER put into writing or even verbally mentioned until they have looped in all the way and your deposit down. Ask as many questions as you want- they have all clearly been trained well in how to skirt around your questions and not be at all transparent. A quick look online shows that many other customers have had the same experience, so it’s putting it mildly to say that they operate on very dishonest business practices. I highly suggest you turn right back around and go to a much more honest dealership that won’t abuse you via their business practices as Dennis Dillon so clearly does.

We looked at a vehicle for a possible purchase. Our

salesperson was nice, helpful, and was not pushy in any way. Bart was great to work with and was the reason we came for a second look at the vehicle. And that is where the good experience ended. We were introduced to Sterling (the closer) and the arrogant and dismissive treatment began. First, they asked us for our insurance card (after the test drive was already done) and gave no reason why. If you are not aware, there is a lot of information the dealer can ascertain about you with your insurance card information, which we refused to give to them as they do not need it especially since there was NO deal in place. Second, after entering our information into their computer system, Sterling was so kind as to walk away and leave the computer open with our information up for everyone to see. Data security was given ZERO priority by Sterling. I had to insist that Sterling close out the computer program in order to protect our data. Third, they attempted to pack the deal with extra fees and costs in order to increase the price of the possible deal. For example, "theft protection" was added, without even a consideration if it something we would want, which amounted to a second insurance policy above your private insurance. Sterling was evasive when asked about this item and when pressed, he straight out lied to our faces about it. We simply will not do business with a company that cannot be forthcoming, reasonable, and dare I say - honest. So we left, drove down the street and purchased a similar vehicle from a different dealer the same day.

Bought a used 2016 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport yesterday.

Traded a 2019 Toyota Camry LE with 6220 miles. Offered $13k in trade for the car. I’ve been offered 22K from two different dealers two days prior. Walked away after being told it is what it was worth based on like car sales. Next morning I was called and offered $21k by the dealership. Against my own judgement I returned to purchase the vehicle. Upon delivery I was told the vehicle didn’t have a second set of keys or owners manual. I get it they aren’t always available. To add insult to injury the purchased vehicle was not washed and vacuumed at delivery and the gas tank was less than 1/4 full. After finance was completed I had to put the required temp licensing sticker in the vehicle window myself as well as remove the mat protection adhesive from the mats. Bottom line this dealership does not value customer service nor build repeat loyalty. Do yourself a favor and use this review as reason to run not walk from this Dennis Dillon dealership. They are truly the gold standard in how not to earn repeat business.

Took car to Dillon for repair ac They said the expansion valve was bad and replaced that about $750 1000 miles later AC not working. I checked the Freon and it was below minimum. The mechanic claims the AC seals dry rotted and it will take $450 to fix it. I told the service tech that I am now suspicious that the expansion valve was not the problem. When I referred to the little mileage I had put on the car between these event the service tech tells me that it’s not his problem that I don’t drive it very much !!! Having a 25 yr history of jet aircraft maintenance as well as 12 years as a commercial vehicle inspection officer for state of Idaho I feel it is more likely that the valve was not the problem and it is more likely the gaskets, if dry rotted did not do so in those 1000 miles. Point being that I paid for expansion valve replacement needlessly. They will not stand behind their work, and you get to pay for it. Ive learned my lesson.....

We highly recommend GMC products. However, I concur with another reviewer on here who stated, regarding Dennis Dillon GMC, “This place is a joke. The only thing missing from the abysmal first impression was [a] tumbleweed rolling through the empty lot.” Our experience at Dennis Dillon Dealership, purchasing a new truck after a hit-and-run, was one of the top worst business experiences we have had. R****** L**** was our salesman and was deceitful and unprofessional. When I asked him about the deceit he yelled at me and threatened me. He lied to us repeatedly. J*** L*****, the General Sales Manager, called, asked what he could do to make it right, and then when I sent the email he twisted my words to DD’s General Counsel. General Counsel took both the salesmans and GSM’s statements and responded but it was full of inaccuracies. DD changed the interest rate R***** promised, told us we could only put down 20%, and stated we could not refinance or payoff the loan until 6-7 payments were made. So, if you are offered a super special Dennis Dillon exclusive “$2,000 below invoice deal” through Dennis Dillon, I recommend you look strongly at 3 things: 1) the interest rate they give you as opposed to what you qualify for, 2) the amount you are permitted to put down, and 3) if there is a prepayment penalty. If there are no prepayment penalties, refinance immediately and put down your full deposit on the new loan at a lower interest rate. You will save thousands! The way this deal works is Dennis Dillon gets the interest payments for the first 6-7 payments. Most people don’t refinance so the bank then makes a killing on the duration of the loan until it is paid off. We simply don’t happen to be one of those people. We prefer to keep our money rather than pay it in interest. There was nothing in my paperwork, despite my salesman's insistence, that prevented us from refinancing or putting down more to lower our payments and the amount of interest we paid. So, instead of paying their ridiculous interest rate we refinanced immediately for 1.99%. Dennis Dillon did not try to rectify this situation with us. The GSM simply referred it to legal (Who does that?). Legal simply backed their sales team and his response was not only highly inaccurate but the sales responses in that document were untruthful. We returned the “Protection Package” we purchased from them as we had zero trust in DD after the way they treated us. DD refunded the full amount and considered themselves hero’s, I gather, for doing so. The disingenuous response here on Google is the same response exact same response they have given for other 1 star reviews. They state they “will use the feedback to make us better and to ensure this doesn’t happen again”. Notice, however, that others complain of the bait and switch on the interest rate, the 20% down requirement, and the mandate for 6-7 payments before refinancing. No improvement appears to have been made in these areas. If you ever go here they will ask you for a review. That is why they have so many. In our case the salesman was upset because he was pressuring us for a review and I wouldn't give it until I saw how everything played out. In short: Completely unprofessional, unresponsive to our concerns, deceptive, manipulative, and uncaring. This was our experience. Check out Yelp Reviews and the BBB complaints to see reviews that were not requested of customers. At a time when we have experienced significant heartache from cancer, medical challenges from two wrecks, a lawsuit against the general contractor who built our home (for significant damages), three totaled vehicles from careless drivers actions (In a 4mo period), having to fight insurance companies for undervaluing our loss vehicles and property, and other significant burdens - Dennis Dillon's tactics and attitude only added to that heartache. We simply wanted to buy a vehicle to replace one that was totaled. We did not expect the level of unprofessionalism from this company. STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP.

Giving Dennis Dillon a one star is too much! The service

department did not fix my vehicle! I was in an accident and said they could fix it. After 2 months of having the vehicle in their shop, they have me back a dirty (broken glass all over the inside) broke vehicle when it shouldn't been totalled!!! If we hadn't got a second opinion, the botch job they did could've killed my family! Do NOT take your vehicle there for repairs! They are a bunch of dishonest slimey people! I'd NEVER buy a vehicle from them!

Worst experience ever purchasing a vehicle. No customer

service, waited hours to get into finance, got tired of sitting and was told by our salesperson to sit down, because we were making people nervous! They messed up the price on a signed contract and we had to pay $5000. more. Had to return a third time to correct DMV docs. Salesperson did not know the vehicle specs and the finance department is dishonest. Will never recomend or return to Dennis Dillon.

I had a fantastic experience buying a car at Dennis

Dillon. I travelled from Seattle to purchase a used Mazda Miata. Tom, my salesman, picked me up from the airport and drove me to the dealership. The car was as advertised and was in beautiful condition inside and out. True, the financing portion was a bit slow, but well worth it in my book. Tom even called me after I left to make sure my drive home had been okay. I read so many negative reviews that I almost didn’t pull the trigger on this deal... but I’m so glad I did. From the time I called to inquire to the time so arrived at home, I was treated with professionalism and friendliness. My hunch is that the car business is so rife with unethical people, people just sort of come to expect it at dealerships. But that’s not what I found at Dennis Dillon. Great car, great price, great people, and overall great experience. Go see Tom if you want to be treated with genuineness and honesty. You’ll be glad you did!

Yes I'm one of those guy's that would go lower than 1

star if possible. I gave these Crooks a $1000 non refundable deposit on a truck they claimed to have. However at the end of August the called and informed me the truck wouldn't be delivered in time for the August rebates, ($4000.00 worth of rebates) and they weren't sure they could get the truck we ordered. I said no big deal lets just wait for the 2021 models to come out and apply the deposit to it, they said no that's not how deposits work, there not transferable. They then wanted me to come all the way to Boise and sign finance papers to get the rebates, for a truck they didn't have and didn't know if or when they could get, and then when and if it came in, to come back (a 700 mile round trip) to pick it up. I said I would be willing to do that if they would Fed-Ex the paperwork so I didn't have to make two trips, They refused, said in person only. The strange thing is, the Salesman and Finance mgr were increasingly unprofessional and condescending each time we talked. Then I got a call from the Smart talking sales boy that he found an AT4 truck that's kind of like the truck I was buying, and would I be interested in buying that truck? I said I thought the 1000 wasn't transferable, to which he replied he could talk his manager into it. I didn't know what an AT4 was so I went over to the local GMC Dealer and test drove one, I then called my sales boy and said I liked it what's the price. the price came back much higher than he quoted me on the Denali, and he claimed that was because the rebates were much lower on this model. I ended up with the local truck, (for much less, thank you National GMC in American Fork UT) and Dennis Dillon ended up with my $1000, I guess those dishonest creepy car sales boys in Boise Idaho needed it more than I did. Bottom line many many better places to do business with than these people.

I told the. I was looking to buy a truck with larger

towing capacity then what I had. They lied to me and told me the towing capacity on the Dodge Ram I bought was 10,500 pounds. While waiting to process the loan the manager sent the salesman out to ask me if I was racist due to I was wearing a Trump 2020 hat. These people will lie to screw you any way they can. BEWARE! The manager after calling him later told me sorry what you went through but nothing we can do. He also told me they fired the salesman. I complained to BBB and they 100% lied to BBB regarding my complaint stating the salesman never said that and also they never told me towing capacity and tried saying I was interest in a 2500 pick up. Funny thing I have never even considered a 2500 and if the salesman didn’t do anything wrong why did he get fired?

great Truck / Vern worst Sales Manager...Horrible Service

My GM Repurchase was to be "Hosted" by Dennis Dillon....We have been working on this transaction for a few weeks with the GM Repurchase Coordinators...Finally all set to execute....I also gave a Deposit for a new Denali 2500 HD and scheduled time to pick it up....I spoke with Josh on 4/24 and informed him that I would be doing a cash sale....and not financing through Dennis Dillon. Once we started finalizing the paperwork, registration, etc,etc....Vern, whoever the xxxx he is, would NOT RELEASE the check that was sent by GM to me...This check had NOTHING to do with the purchase of a new truck, but solely on the Repurchase agreement..... 2 COMPLETELY separate transactions...This Jerk VERN, tells me that "we don't do cash sales"....and he would not accept the GM check signed over to Dennis Dillon, but wanted me to run around and get a cashiers check instead..... and he was under the impression that I told them the day before, when in fact I told their Salesperson Josh on 4/24, validated by the date on my check from my Credit Union....VERN is nothing more than the typical sleazy car salesman......I would love someone from the Senior Management Team team to contact me at once.....I, in good faith, waited around to counter sign the Credit Union check that i brought with me, so VERN would not have to chase me down in California for a signature.....I drove 785 miles to make this transaction happen, and VERN completely ruined your stellar reputation and opinion from a paying customer.....I should have let VERN try to get my signature after he held up my check from GM without cause. I can't wait to post these details ALL OVER SOCIAL MEDIA!.....Get ready VERN!....I'll hold my breath to see if VERN's upper Management cares to give me a call..........I also checked the box on this survey that states " I agree that GM or the Dealership can publish my response"....PLEASE DO!

Super Buying Experience - Mark De La Motte & Cameron Belcher

The closer I got to purchasing, I noticed some unfavorable reviews on DealerRater that concerned me, so I called Mark De La Motte my salesperson to inform him of my concerns and that I don’t want to be haggled with, I just want to buy the truck. Mark informed me that yes there were some funky reviews, but if I was ready to purchase, to just come on in. Mark promised that nobody would pressure me. When I arrived, we filled out the application, and you told Parts and Financing what I wanted ahead of time, which made our transaction smooth. The financing guy I worked with was Cameron Belcher - A super individual who was very helpful in making this transaction smooth. I can't say anything better about this company!

Hi speed scammers using misleading tactics

Don't go here to save a buck. While I won't say they are thieves and liars, i have purchased a lot of new vehicles and the disappointment is just too many and too much. First, the price advertised on the site is not what you are getting. Oh, yeah, the friendly salesman will tell you how it is, explain twelve ways from Sunday that it is and it is worth it. Nothing but op notch sales guys in this dealership. After the sale, you will go to a "Closer." Also a professional skilled in the art of selling you add-ons. Easy to say no, but you are forced to go through all the rigamarole with lots of "But you have to do this to get the price." Finally, instead of paying for a credit check, these guys sign you up for a "free" credit report. On your next credit card bill, you'll have a $30 charge for a monthly credit checking company. While the closer is going over your paper work, there's so much crap that they shove in your face, you're bound to overlook something. They might have told me that I'd have to cancel this report, but I don't think they did. The shtick these guys use is to recoup low sales profits with back-end deals they've made with banks, credit score companies, credit companies and GM. Nobody gets something for free, and this dealership is a group of sharks swimming around you as fast as they can go. I would not choose Dennis Dillon GMC again, I would not trust them with a broken shoe lace and I would definitely not recommend a purchase from them. Very Friendly staff. Working in teams, swarming you with smarmy small talk. terribly inefficient time management, waste most of a day to get out of the dealership. Be prepared to do tons of paperwork, wait to do paperwork and have your sales person working at least 3 to 4 other clients while you are there. If patience is your forte and price point is your value, these guys might be for you. With all that said, I think the deal was as cheap as it could be. And cheap stuff rarely pays off in the long run.

Worst experience ever

I drove 7 hours to pickup my new Denali dually from Dennis Dillon. I pulled into the parking lot and saw the truck and was immediately happy that i drove all that way. When going in to sign all my paperwork they changed the deal on me. Previously on the phone was told with my trade in plus tax credit blah blah blah id only owe about 18-20,000 so my payments would be right around $300.00. Then they told me i couldn’t put all my trade in value on the new truck and they have a 20% max down payment on any new purchase. After hours of what felt like a pushy salesman and getting interrogated by a sales manager the whole thing seemed sketchy to me so i no longer wanted the vehicle. I asked to speak with a GM 5 times and have yet to talk to one. They kept my 1,000 security deposit and refused to reimburse me for a deal that went south on their end.

Good deal, but slimy sales process

I’d like to write this review for anyone who is considering a vehicle purchase from Dennis Dillon GMC, but particularly those who are not local to the Boise area. I purchased a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 from Dennis Dillon last Wednesday (2/22/17), and while I do not regret the purchase, the staff at Dennis Dillon could have made the purchase go MUCH more smoothly. I first contacted Dennis Dillon only two days before I purchased the vehicle, when I called and spoked with a salesman named Todd. I spoke with Todd on the phone since I live in Portland, OR, the first of many phone calls before I committed to the purchase. The dealership offers two prices on their website: a sale price, and a “as low as price.” Both come with caveats: you can only get the sale price if you finance your purchase through the dealership (during which you’re limited to putting no more than 20% down), and you can only get the “as low as price” if you have amassed points with the GMC credit card and are a member of a local farm bureau. Otherwise, their offer will be $1,000 more than the sale price. Hence, we agreed on a final price of being the “sale price,” since Dennis Dillon is not willing to negotiate on price at all (I don’t fault them, since they were the lowest price I could find in the US). After going back and forth with Todd on many phone calls, we proceeded with doing a remote quote on trading in my old vehicle. Dennis Dillon came back with an insultingly low offer, which I declined and sold my truck to a private buyer for twice the amount that the dealership offered. Despite that, I was able to put down a $1,000 nonrefundable deposit to hold the new vehicle until I could travel to Boise to complete the purchase. I flew to Boise the night before the purchase and stayed at a hotel near the airport. I asked the salesman Todd if he could pick me up the next morning from the hotel since the dealership is only two miles away, and he agreed. We agreed on 9:30 a.m. The next morning, Todd phoned at about 9:20 to state that he was running late and would pick me up at 9:45. He arrived at that time, and I was a bit dismayed to find that the truck was not ready for sale: it was dirty (inside and out), had no floor mats, and had less than one-quarter tank of gas. I expressed my frustration over this to Todd, who told me that the vehicle would be “detailed” and filled before I left. We got back to the rather spartan showroom and completed the initial paperwork on the showroom floor (the salesmen don’t have their own offices). Despite the fact that I had spoken with Todd many times about the finances, he initially tried to slide a trick by me by saying “you only wanted to put $1,000 down, right?” Obviously I wanted to put the full 20% down to lower the monthly payment. What followed next was an example of every slimy trick in the car dealer playbook. I was presented with many successive versions of the same form that I was pressured into signing, but each time I pointed out that they were trying to mislead me with the numbers. First it was the issue with the incorrect down payment ($1,000 versus the full 20%). Then they tried to claim that $8,000 was 20% of the purchase price, which it wasn’t (it was more like $8,500). Then they calculated a monthly payment without disclosing the interest rate to me—some quick math proved that the interest rate was 10%! Then they claimed that they were only “estimating” the monthly payment, and that they couldn’t determine the real rate until we met with the finance department! Obviously anyone with simple math skills knows that this is a bold-faced lie. You cannot calculate a monthly loan payment without knowing the interest rate. You simply can’t! The dealership lies and tries to be “nice guys” to get you to sign this paperwork. Finally, after many rounds of back and forth and lowering the interest rate (and me threatening to walk out), they pulled out the “good cop, bad cop” routine. Todd’s boss (Mike?) came out and Mike played hardball (bad cop) about how the lowest he could go on the interest rate was 4.99%. Todd (good cop) pretended to be my buddy (“this is the best I’ve seen them offer”) to get me to sign the paperwork. Finally, we came to an agreement, and walked over to a different building to the finance department. After about a 30 minute wait, we met with Jay, the finance manager. Jay was quite simply not a pleasant person to deal with, and made many snarky comments to me. While the paperwork initially started off straightforward, he started rattling off all the subtotals that would contribute to the final price, and tried to sneak in a few extra hundred dollars for an add-on that would put ID stickers on the major components of the car. Luckily I caught it, and he removed that charge. Then he went on a 15-minute sales presentation about how I should buy an extended warranty, which I obviously declined. He got a bit more surly after that, especially when I told him that the salesman told me that I could put the entire down payment on a credit card (he refused to let me do that, but luckily I brought my checkbook as backup). The interest rate came down a little bit when working with Jay—it ended up being about 4.25%, which is definitely higher than average. At last we were done with finance. I went back out to the showroom to find Todd, who told me that my vehicle was almost done being detailed. After another 20 minutes (over 2.5 hours after I first arrived), the vehicle was brought back, but it had not been gassed. Todd left with another salesmen to go fill the vehicle, which took another 30 minutes (even though there were two gas stations literally across the street from the dealership). Once that was done, I had to wait even more. The dealership could not find the floor mats for the vehicle, and after 30 more minutes of searching, they finally had the sense to get a brand new set from the parts department. Only then did I get to sit in the vehicle, and I was dismayed that it had not been detailed. It looked like it had been run through a cheap carwash. The interior was not clean at all (they simply put the floor mats over the dirt on the carpet), and there was dust and dirt smudges all over the interior. The bed of the truck was also filled with dirt/debris. In an effort to get out of there and begin my seven hour drive back home, I let it slide and cleaned it myself once I got home. But we’re not over yet. We had to do 15 minute call with customer service to set up the OnStar system. Then, as Todd was about to wish me bon voyage, I realized that I had not been provided with the Monroney sticker (window sticker) nor a temporary license tag for the back window. Despite the fact that it is federal law for the Monroney sticker to be provided with every new vehicle, the “detailers” had thrown the sticker away (luckily Todd found it). Jay, the rude finance manger, had forgotten to fill out the temporary window license, and he had gone to lunch by this point (1:00 p.m., or 3.5 hours after I arrived). After several frantic phone calls from Todd to Jay, he returned about 20 minutes later and completed the label. Jay never apologized, never acknowledged his mistake, and did the work with a scowl on his face. At long last, almost four hours after my arrival, I left in my new vehicle. To summarize: I do not regret purchasing my vehicle from Dennis Dillon GMC for the SOLE reason that they offered a very good price. However, and this is BIG however, they do not make the process easy. Despite knowing that I had a seven hour drive ahead of me, they did absolutely nothing to get the vehicle ready ahead of time. Their sales/finance process is extremely slimy and deceptive, and you can quite easily “lose” your good deal if you fall for their tricks. But if you read every line on every piece of paper, stand your ground, and know what’s right and what’s not, you can walk away with a good deal. Just expect that Dennis Dillon GMC will drag their feet in the process.
